Deep inside, you know you have powerful words to share, and yet something has been holding you back.
Imagine yourself within a circle of support, writing and celebrating your words with ease. Envision connecting with those stories you’ve been longing to tell and getting them down on paper at last.
Whatever your level of writing experience, this retreat is a time to focus on nourishing your creative vision.
Writing From the Heart provides the dedicated space and support you need to get started on that memoir you’ve been itching to write. It’s the perfect time to gather and work with those scraps of paper filled with story fragments. You may feel a strong desire to play with words, without any particular genre in mind.
No matter what stage your writing project is at, you will leave with a good start on something big! You’ll discover a deeper connection with your writing voice and build practices that enable powerful words to show up on the page. You will know, deep in your bones, that your words matter; your voice matters. Best of all, you will leave with unforgettable memories, connections with other adventurous spirits, and the motivation and confidence to continue on your writing journey.

“I was looking forward to a virtual writing retreat, but I was also concerned about spending the whole day on Zoom. What Marie did was brilliant. We spent a few hours writing together, and then we separated for several hours in the afternoon before getting back together to share what we had accomplished in our break from the screen. Marie put a lot of care into creating an excellent experience for us. The writing prompts, the opportunity to share and support each other, and loving on each other’s words all made for an experience both heart-warming and encouraging. I’m no longer afraid of a blank page”.

“The Writing From the Heart Retreat was transformational. I know that when I say yes to myself, which is always hard to do, transformation is going to happen. This year it happened physically. I threw my back out halfway through the retreat and started writing and journaling about the pain. I dove into aspects of myself I didn't even know were there. There was deep healing. By the end of the retreat, I went from not being able to move to having more flow and movement, both physically and emotionally. It showed me how powerful our minds are... how powerful our stories are.”

"I loved the Writing From the Heart Retreat. It’s a great place to dip your toes in the water to see what writing is like in a community, and that’s what I love the most about it. I appreciated being able to share my words and have them received in a beautiful and respectful way… in a way that makes me feel great about my writing!"
